Ranging in works from modern artists such as Picasso and Miro, to famous French Impressionists, The National Gallery is an excellent place to experience the culture of the arts while visiting Washington. Visitors should begin their explorations in the West Building’s Micro Gallery, featuring an informative multimedia computer database that allows visitors to locate artist’s collections or certain periods or specific works exhibited throughout the museum with wandering aimlessly through the high-ceiling corridors. An interesting note: Outside the East Wing, a sharp angle of the southwest corner of the outside wall has been smoothed and rounded solely by the throngs of visitors who touch the wall as they turn the corner; it has become a famous landmark, believe it or not. Perhaps even a work of art!
