Of the nine different Smithsonian Museums lining Washington’s National Mall, the National Museum of Natural History is perhaps the most interesting, and no doubt the most visually stimulating. The first thing one sees is the gigantic 8-ton, 13-foot African Bull elephant that dominates the museum entrance. The Museum’s collection houses more than 120 million pieces, many of which are life-size replicas of dinosaurs and other such exotic animals. Exhibits range from archeology discoveries, to rare plants, to geological wonders, to fossils and more.
