White House
Home to the leader of the free world. A lot of important things happen here, we think, or maybe that’s what the government wants us to believe.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial
This uniquely and sentimentally designed memorial commemorates the thousands upon thousands of soldiers lost in the most decimating war in American history. It is the most visited monument in Washington. The black granite wall has been fashioned so that visitors inspecting the soldiers’ names engraved on the wall can at the same time see their own reflection, and perhaps experience a bit of reflection, too, as their own self casts its image over the names of those whose image can be cast no more.

National Air & Space Museum
According to Air & Space Museum officials, this place is the most visited museum in the world. With exhibits like the Wright Brothers’ plane, the Apollo 11 command module, the Einstein gallery, and much more, it is no wonder that visitors of all ages enjoy this museum.

Tracks 2000
The hippest, grooviest club in all of Washington, Tracks sees an eclectic crowd, ranging from flamboyant homosexuals, to uptight business-types, to drunken college students, to grandparents on Ecstasy. This place has a huge dance floor (several dance floors), a killer sound system that plays thumping dance music of every type, and, last time we were there, they even had a sand-filled volleyball court going in the back. Stays open late.

Lincoln Memorial
This famous monument commemorates perhaps the greatest President in American history. Constructed in Greek style, the monument has 36 Doric columns making up the façade, one for each state while Lincoln was alive. Of course, a statue of the man himself is situated in the monument’s center; he is seated, contemplatively looking out over the city. Etched into the south wall of the monument is the Gettysburg Address, and carved into the north wall Lincoln’s second inaugural speech
