Rock Creek Park, in addition to offering numerous outdoor activities like golfing and biking, also carries an intriguing history. The Park once served as a defense post for George Washington during the Civil War. Visitors still can explore the four dilapidated forts that stand strategically positioned in the park, as well as the Pierce Mill Watermill. Education, relaxation, and a bit of fitness go a long way.
